FAQ’S
Why not hire a full time engineer?
For starters, the annual cost of a senior mechanical engineer exceeds $100,000.00, plus benefits. Aside from that, you may not always have enough work to keep them busy, so you’re stuck paying a salary for someone you can’t fully utilize.
With a monthly plan, you can pause and resume your subscription as often as you need to ensure you’re only paying for engineering time when you need it.
Do you also do project based work or do you only work via subscription?
Yes. Not every project fits with a subscription. For smaller or one time projects we will provide a proposal and scope of work. I believe that my success comes from the success of my clients. I’ll match a project with whichever approach can provide the best value.
How do I know you’re going to have enough time to work on my project.
We believe that at the end of the day all that matters are results. To ensure this happens we limit the number of clients we serve to ensure we can deliver.
Is there a limit to how many requests I can have?
Once subscribed, you’re able to add as many design requests to your queue as you would like, and they will be delivered one by one.
How do you handle meetings?
We believe meetings are an important part of the process but only when needed. To keep your project moving you get one 30 minute meeting request each week to use as needed. We do request a 24 hour heads up when scheduling.
How fast will I receive my requests?
On average, most requests are completed in just four days. However, more complex requests take more time.
Who are the engineers?
It might surprise you to learn that Tarhun 3D is an agency of one. This means you’ll work directly with me, founder and engineer at Tarhun 3D. However, I have a broad network of partners for more specialized requests, such as nonlinear FEA or PCB Design.
Can you work with our existing team?
Absolutely. Most of our clients have an engineer or two on staff. We help you gain the extra capacity you need as you move through a growth stage or a particularly busy time period.
How does the pause feature work?
We understand that you may not need to fill up an entire month. Perhaps you only have two or three engineering requests at the moment. That’s where pausing your subscription comes in handy.
Billing cycles are based on a 31 day period. If, for example. you sign up and use the service for 25 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. Your billing cycle will be paused and you’ll still have 6 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.
What software do you work in?
We work in SOLIDWORKS and can sync with your current version.
How do I request projects?
We sync with your process in a number of ways. We use Trello as our project management dashboard. Many of our clients use Dropbox to share existing CAD data, legacy drawings etc. Design requests can be shared with a brief Loom video or a simple Google Doc if you prefer.
What if I want to make a change?
No problem! We’ll continue to revise the project until you’re 100% satisfied.
What if I only have one small project?
That’s fine. You can pause your subscription when finished and return when you have additional project needs. There’s no need to let the remainder of your subscription go to waste.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the high quality nature of the service refunds will not be issued.
